Position Summary:

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a new quality engineering team at Platform9. As an Engineering Manager you will own quality for all Platform9 products. You will lead a team that is responsible for defining and collecting metrics on quality, collaborate with the product development team to improve test coverage and identify areas that need improvement in quality. 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

• Own measurement of quality for all Platform9 products 
• Work with product managers, engineering leads and support leads to establish metrics that define quality and own the automation required to gather data for all such metrics 
• Collect requirements from engineering leads and establish quarterly team priorities and goals 
• Lead the QA team to measure quality of Platform9 products through test automation and manual / exploratory testing as needed, and report on it 
• Build a Quality Engineering roadmap with quarterly planning and review cycles 
• Mentor and guide engineers on the team on technical tasks and career development 
• Build out the team by identifying hiring needs and executing against hiring targets. 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related discipline. Extensive related work experience is also acceptable.
• 10 years experience as a hands-on engineer / lead in automated quality testing of large scale distributed systems 
• 3 years experience in a lead / management role for a quality engineering team 
• Experience in writing automated tests and test frameworks, reporting tools etc, preferably in Python 
• Experience with continuous integration systems and practices 
• Experience working on cloud and container technologies
